![]() It's soulless, no matter the prompt or patron. And until an AI can commission its own ideas - until they dream of robot sheep - AI can not be considered the same as a human artist. You don't get to take credit for NightCafe or Midjourney and call yourself an artist. People who pay for and/or prompt AI programs into creating something are not the artists themselves. That doesn't make Pope Julius II the artist of the Sistine Chapel. There are plenty of creative patrons and producers who are technically incapable of bringing their ideas to fruition without commissioning an artist. I saw so many people who have creative thoughts and ideas but have never been able to master the technical skills of art If you want ai to do it for you then you’re more interested in saying you’re an artist than actually being one. ![]() My point of view is that if you want to pursue something creative, then you’ll want to learn how to actually do it. There are plugins that will write a chord progression for you, that will write a melody for you. I’m a musician and songwriter too, so my YouTube algorithms show me a lot of ads for music production plugins. I think it’s arrogant for that person to say it’s just as valid. If someone can’t be bothered to learn, then they probably don’t even know what they don’t know. There’s composition, use of color, all kinds of design choices. Chuck Close was quadriplegic, for god’s sake.īut there’s so much more to making art than just an idea of what you want represented. I think it’s probably more rare than they’re realizing (or willing to admit) for a disability to prevent someone from making their own art. I get that some people can’t or don’t want to learn to draw or paint and still want to produce their ideas.
